Hot showers, café, barbecues, surf equipment and more..
At Waves you will be camping in beautiful, untouched, and natural surroundings and enjoy the comfort of quality amenities. The campground is kept as natural as possible and it won’t take long before you encounter some wildlife. Goannas, possums, kangaroos, and many native bird species feel right at home here with us. Our amenity block provides campers with clean (flush) toilets, hot showers and laundry & washing up facilities.
Cafe @ Waves
Our on-site cafe is open most of the year. Check their social for the latest opening hours! They serve barista made coffees and yummy cafe treats. In line with our environmentally conscious approach to the campground, the café sources eco-friendly materials to work with and only serves compostable and recyclable cups, plates, and cutlery. Bringing your own plates and cups is also encouraged!
Camping
Ground fires are allowed in the fire pits provided and it is no problem if you want to bring your own stove or pit. It is not allowed to move our firepits, all fires have to be sensible and are subject to total fire bans.
There is also a large, sheltered Camp Kitchen with picnic tables, an electric hot plate cooker and electric, gas and wood fire barbecues. All campers are free to use the barbecues, but you have to bring your own gas or wood. The water in the Camp Kitchen is bore water, please note that this water needs treatment or to be boiled before consuming. There are also (free) rain water taps in front of the amenities and we sell bottled drinking water or filtered drinking water refills at reception.
Reception + camp shop
The campground reception and shop hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. In the shop we sell cold drinks, ice creams, snacks, toiletries, essential dry food and camping supplies such as ice and firewood. Please note that we do not sell or swap gas bottles and don't sell any perishable items (bread/milk/eggs).
In the surf shop guests can rent wetsuits, body boards and surfboards suitable for all ability levels. We also sell surf equipment such as fins, wax and leg ropes. If you are looking for any advice or guidance on surfing in general or the best spots in our area, please talk to our generally surf crazy crew.
Bunkhouse
Besides camping it is possible to stay with us in our Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse can provide up to 62 people with dormitory style accommodation. Next to the Bunkhouse is a separate outdoor kitchen and large social area. This kitchen is for the use of our Bunkhouse guests only and has a basic setup to cater for up to 70 people including all the cooking equipment and utensils. We can easily cater for large groups, including school groups or surf camps, whether you would like to come camping, sleep in the Bunkhouse or combine the two!
